The long pebbly beach which extends from Kolymbari in the west to Chania in the east is ideal for swimming, especially on calm days. Near the beach there are a few tavernas and restaurants, and other shops, tavernas and cafes can be found in the village. Tavronitis is an active, working village that remains open during the winter.
